What we collect and why
My Cat profile
Your My Cat profile is stored in your browser and is not sent to CatLives. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Tool-result emails
If you request an emailed result, we use your address, the result shown and any cat name you provide to send that message. An optional cat photo is resized in your browser and sent only with that email. Requesting a result does not subscribe you to marketing. This service is unavailable while email delivery is not configured.
The Sunday Cat newsletter
Newsletter signup is currently closed. When it opens, CatLives will use Resend to store your address and signup source, deliver the requested emails and provide an unsubscribe route. We will rely on your consent.
Contact messages
If you email us, we use your address and message to respond and keep them only as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and related records.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
CatLives does not currently load non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. If analytics or Google AdSense is introduced, it will not load before the required consent choice, this policy will be updated, and a cookie-settings control will be provided.
Strictly necessary browser storage may be used for features you request, including remembering saved content, your My Cat profile and whether you dismissed an interface notice.
Affiliate links
Some future retailer links may be affiliate links and will be labelled. A retailer or affiliate network may set cookies after you follow such a link under its own privacy policy. CatLives does not receive your payment details.
Who we share data with
Where email delivery is enabled, Resend processes the information needed to deliver messages. Hosting and infrastructure providers process limited technical data needed to operate and secure the site. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep data
Newsletter details will be held until you unsubscribe. Contact messages and delivery records are retained only for as long as needed for the enquiry, security, legal or operational purposes. Local My Cat data remains in your browser until you remove it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal data, object to certain use and withdraw consent. Email info@catlives.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children and policy changes
CatLives is written for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. We update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
