CatLives content is written and edited by Idris Olaide. A page is described as clinically reviewed only when a named, qualified professional has reviewed it and the page shows their qualification and review date.
Research standard
Health claims use veterinary organisations, professional guidance, welfare charities or published research. Sources must support the claims for which they are cited. We state disagreement and uncertainty rather than inventing figures.
Medical boundaries
CatLives provides education, not diagnosis. We distinguish home observations from veterinary assessment, show urgent warning signs and do not give drug doses. Calculators explain their assumptions and limits.
Breed information and welfare
Breed tendencies are not guarantees. Guides separate recorded history from anecdote and should identify recognition status and inherited health concerns. Defining features linked to welfare problems are stated plainly.
Products, breeders and insurance
Buying guides name products using criteria stated on the page and identify whether evidence is published specifications, hands-on testing or expert input. Breeder lists are not endorsements and are not sold. Insurance guides provide factual general information and do not rank policies.
Commercial independence
Advertising and affiliate relationships do not decide what we cover or conclude. Read our disclosure and review methodology.
Updates, corrections and software
Dates change only when content is rechecked. Material errors are corrected promptly. Software can assist research, organisation and quality checks, but a named person remains responsible for every page.
